The department has undertaken several urban and rural water supply, sewerage and sanitation projects in the East African region.The department has also undertaken, including design reviews and technical audits of donor funded community-based projects whereby cost-effective, appropriate and sustainable technological solutions are adopted in close liaison with local community beneficiaries.
Ngara Water Supply Project
Ngara District Council engaged Atkins Tanzania Ltd( the consultant),and Howard Consulting Limited as Sub- Consultant) to carry out the investigation of availability of reliable water sources, feasibility study, detail technical design and preparation of standard tender documents for construction of water supply project in Rusumo village, to assess the need for rehabilitation of existing water supply schemes in Kasulo, Kasharazi, Rwakaremela and Mshikamano villages and design review for construction of buildings facilities for Rusumo health centre and assess the need for rehabilitation of Lemera Folk development College.
Moruwasa Water Supply Project
The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania (GoT) has prepared a National Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Programme (NUWSSP) and developed a comprehensive plan to build water resource management capacity and to improve and extend water supplies. Implementation of the NUWSSP is the part of the National effort to reduce poverty, improve health and quality of life of the urban population. The Morogoro Urban Water and Sanitation Authority (MORUWASA) has engaged ATKINS Tanzania Limited (the Consultant) and Howard Consulting Limited as Sub- Consultant) to carry out Consultancy Services for Detailed Study, Preparation of Detailed Engineering Design, Bills of Quantities, Confidential Engineering Cost Estimates and Tender Documents of Water Supply Systems for Gairo, Dakawa, Mikumi and Mahenge Townships in Morogoro Region.
Mwanga-Same-Korongwe Water Supply Project
Implementation of the WSDP is part of the national effort to reduce poverty and improve the health and quality of life of the population. It is purposely designed to enable the Government achieve its National Strategy for Economic Growth and Reduction of Poverty (NSGRP-MKUKUTA) targets and the country’s MDGs.Howard Consulting (T) Ltd has been commissioned by the Ministry of Water as an associate Consultant to provide consultancy services in this Project.
