Howard Consulting formerly known as Howard Humphreys is one among of Tanzanian’s leading engineering consultancies and has been carrying out the project management, design and construction supervision of buildings, roads and water supply and sewerage projects in Tanzania since 1931. To date Howard Consulting and through its predecessor Howard Humphreys has carried out over 60 major building projects, 17 major water supply projects and 27 major road projects in Tanzania.

Howard Consulting’s’ roots go back to London UK, wherein 1899, the original owners first set up their practice. Howard Humphreys first registered their local practice, in the 1930’s and since then more than 200 projects have been completed in the region. In the 1980’s Brown and Root acquired Howard Humphreys. At the end of 1999, Brown & Root transferred full ownership of the Kenyan practice to its Kenyan staff, who established Howard Consulting’s (East Africa) Ltd (HHEA). In January 2007. Howard Humphreys (Tanzania) Ltd was acquired by HHEA from Brown & Root. The company changed its name to Howard Consulting in December2018 after Tanzanian shareholders decided to setup a local entity.
